Boostmyshop - desktop website

For this main final challenge of Iron Hack, we got to work for Boostmyshop.

The goal was to design and improve the architecture information and the user flow on their website, for the company to have a better conversion rate.

At the bottom page of this case study, you'll be able to navigate through the Figma prototype, feel free!

Role - UX/UI Designer
Team - Olivia/Thomas

Project duration - 14 days

Context

The first challenge we encountered was to get into the field and learn about their products. All of their products are technical and are aiming a specific kind of user that already has a lot of knowledge in the supply chain and can handle technical information on the website. It was important to take into account in our website architecture that the main spokesperson is most likely to be the CEO given the size of the companies (small/medium) buying Boostmyshop services.

Boostmyshop, a company from Lyon, has 2 very distinct products: automatic repricing solutions and warehouse management.

They want to promote both but it's actually confusing for the client.

In just under two weeks, my teammate and I had to improve the architecture information and the user flow on the website for the company to have a better conversion rate.

Scope
Overview
Heuristic & Heatmap

We analysed the main competitors (both in automatic repricing and warehouse management) and gathered information on their own website displays.

It mainly revealed that their written information were leaning towards a clearer problem solving vision and their website are more breathing.

The first step was to analyse the website as it is. A very useful tool for this was the heatmap. It showed us a graphic representation of the activity recorded on the web pages. The Boostmyshop team gave us the data from their own analysis. We learnt that 85% of the website users only use a desktop platform to access Boostmyshop online, and that the average time spent on the website is 3 minutes.

Apart from these data, the main assessment here is that the fold rate plumets after the second banner where 40% of visitors fold. We knew the major changes we had to put into motion were located on the top of the main page.

Competitors
Persona & Problem statements

The solution we chose to offer were to mainly focusing on:

- Make the language  more user friendly, less technical, problem solving

- Use accent colors (pink and blue) to highlight key features and CTA functions related to the 2 different products

- Shorten the pages and integrate price plans into each product page so that they are visible and easy to compare

- Add a human touch to the website i.e. images of real people, highlight reviews of the products from clients

Once again the design thinking approach gave us tools to further our analysis: the Affinity Diagram. We defined our persona as a CEO of a small/medium size business, most likely lacking time and already knowledgeable about the products sold by BMS. BMS needs to highlight their key e-commerce features, competitive price plans and customer support because they need visitors to “Book a Demo” to become leads.

Ideation
Mid fidelity prototype

We presented the mid-fi version to the BMS team and started to do some testing with CEOs to gather feedback about the accessibility of the products. We then made the corresponding changes for the final version.

Please feel free to give a try to our delivery!

I will conclude by mentioning that this project is special to us because it got us in the top 2 of the Iron Hack project. and has been very well received by Boostmyshop!
